Mnangagwa off to Moscow to attend Victory Day 80th commemorations

Harare – President Emmerson Mnangagwa left Harare for Russia to attend the 80th commemoration of the end of World War 2 which is dubbed Victory Day.

Mnangagwa was seen off at Robert Mugabe International Airport by senior government officials.

‎Russia President Vladimir Putin will lead the Victory Day commemorations in Moscow the capital of Russia.

‎Nazi Germany surrendered to Russia and the Western countries in 1945 marking the end of the most bloody war in human history.

‎Mnangagwa will join other global leaders from other continents for the historic commemorations.

‎Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is acting president in Mnangagwa’s absence.

Russia is engaged in a bitter war with Ukraine after a military invasion ordered by Putin in February 2022.
