Harare – The inclusion of Zimbabwe Attorney General, Virginia Mabhiza to the official foreign visits by President Emmerson Mnangagwa was questioned on social media but the government has said nothing was amiss.
Mabhiza was part of officials that went with Mnangagwa to the Vatican were they made Pope Leo XIV. She is also part of the delegation to China.
”The recent visit of the Attorney-General of Zimbabwe to the Vatican, alongside the President, marks a significant milestone in the nation’s diplomatic and international relations. This distinguished delegation underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and cooperation on global issues, ranging from justice and governance to humanitarian and spiritual matters,” the AG’s office said.
”The Attorney-General’s presence at such a revered global institution highlights Zimbabwe’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and promoting ethical leadership on the international stage. Together with the President, the Attorney-General’s engagement with the Vatican not only strengthens bilateral ties but also reinforces Zimbabwe’s role as a proactive and principled member of the global community.”
Mabhiza was permanent secretary in the Ministry of Justice when Mnangagwa was the Minister of Justice. She is married to Lewis Mabhiza.
