Harare – Flamboyant and controversial businessman, Wicknell Chivhayo drew anger from his Facebook followers on Sunday after he rubbished mass protests called by war veteran, Blessed Geza on Monday, on March 31.
Chivhayo posted a statement attacking Geza as a failed and useless politician.
“To shift from legal and peaceful demonstrations and start BURNING vehicles, DESTROYING property belonging to innocent individuals and calling for the VIOLENT REMOVAL of a Government is ILLEGAL, treasonous and easily qualifies as TERRORISM. No serious, patriotic Zimbabwean should entertain this,” Chivhayo wrote on his Facebook page.
Chivhayo described exiled politicians calling for mass protests against President Emmerson Mnangagwa regime as “bitter opposition remnants” and a “criminal cartel of fugitives.”
“NO ONE has the right to REMOVE a Constitutionally elected Government, just because they feel like they can,” Chivhayo said.
“At the center of this chaos is an individual who no longer deserves the respected title of CDE but a chap called Blessed Geza , a USELESS , failed politician and fugitive from justice, whose only remaining strategy is to provoke instability from his SELF-IMPOSED EXILE.”
At least 7 000 comments reacted to Chivhayo’s post with most people attacking him.
“Pasi neZvigananda and corruption. Only a few are enjoying this country whilst the rest are suffering,” Admire Makamure commented.
Zvigananda is a Shona term that means a corrupt person. Vice President Constantino Chiwenga spoke and denounced “Zvigananda” recently.
Tatenda Mkudu, replied Chivhayo saying: “And let’s not pretend you are not part of the problem. The very people you praise are the reason why we are on our knees.”
“Supporting the same broken system and calling for blind loyalty isn’t patriotism – it’s enabling the very same destruction you stand against,” Mkudu added.
Eve replied Chivhayo saying:”Just fix the hospitals at least. The money you give, you can renovate hospitals, pay doctors and provide medicine.”
Chivhayo posted a video with his statement that shows him driving his Rolls Royce into his yard where you see his mansion and a variety of luxurious expensive cars.
Chivhayo has been giving out millions of US dollars splashing cash and cars like confetti at a wedding to whoever he feels like giving. This has angered ordinary people who are suffering from the economic crisis in the country.
Last week, vehicles were torched at the premises of Kuda Tagwirei, Chivhayo and John Mangudya, the people Geza said were criminals surrounding Mnangagwa.
Geza has called for Zimbabweans to protest against Mnangagwa and his government saying the veteran ruler must step down accusing him of massive corruption and mismanaging the economy.
