Harare – Zimbabwe’s Defence Minister and ZANU PF chairperson, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has allegedly leased a party farm to businessman Tawanda Nyambirai in Arcturus where massive gold mining is taking place.
Muchinguri-Kashiri allegedly leased Jongwe farm in a private and secret arrangement with Nyambirai without approval of ZANU PF leader and President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Nyambirai is allegedly using his proxy named Matthew to mine at Jongwe farm where at least 20 kilogrammes of gold is being mined every month.
The secret lease of Jongwe farm escaped the radar of ZANU PF administration which is headed by Obert Mpofu, the secretary for administration.
”Mining is taking place at Jongwe farm and gold is being mined with Matthew taking the proceeds,” a source disclosed.
Matthew is believed to be a relative of Muchinguri-Kashiri, the source alleged.
Nyambirai, a lawyer by profession is now new to controversy after he once got journalists from the now defunct the Source news agency.
Nyambirai is the owner of which is formerly Steward bank that was owned by mobile telephone mogul Strive Masiyiwa.
Nyambiria and Muchinguri-Kashiri were not immediately available to comment.
