Harare – Retailer Meikles Limited has appointed Fayaz King as Acting board chairman with immediate effect beginning this July.
”The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Fayaz King as Acting Chairman of the Board, effective 3 July 2025,” Batanai Peresuh Meikles Limited company secretary said in a statement.
Meikles said King, a former executive at Econet Wireless will bring experience and expertise in growing the company.
”Mr King is a distinguished Zimbabwean business leader with over thirty years of executive experience spanning, telecommunications, information technology, the digital economy and innovation. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a proven ability to drive operational excellence, spearhead strategic initiatives, and optimize business processes to enhance efficiency and profitability,” Peresuh said.
”He brings to the Board an unwavering dedication to achieving exceptional results and advancing the organization’s strategic objectives.”
Fayaz also served as special adviser to the United Nations Secretary General envoy on Technology in his recent work experience.
Meikles Limited runs Pick n Pay supermarkets in the country and also own shares of Victorial Falls hotel.
