Tehran – Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the slain Ayatollah Khamenei has been appointed Iran’s new Supreme leader.
Khamenei,56, was appointed by 88 clerics.
Mojtaba Khamenei lost his parents, wife and son after US and Israeli bombed them at a compound they were sheltered on February 28.
Khamenei is reportedly a powerful person in Iran as he has close ties with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
The US President Donald Trump Jr and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyau have disapproved the appointment of Khamenei vowing to continue fighting against the regime in Tehran.
The war between US, Israel and Iran has destabilized the Middle East. Over 1500 people have been killed since the war began in February.
Iran has attacked Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain targeting US bases while Israel has been bombing Lebanon after Hezbollah fired missiles to Israel.
Crude oil has been rising sharply in the past days and it has affected many countries that depend on oil from the Middle East.
The US and Israel started the war against Iran to stop Iran from enriching it’s uranium into a nuclear weapon.
Tehran has long argued that it’s uranium enrichment is for peaceful means and not to make nuclear weapons.
