Johannesburg, South Africa – A South African court on Tuesday denied bail Tiffany Meek, a mother facing charges of killing her 11-year-old son, Jayden Lee Meek.
Tiffany Meek,31, bail denial was met with jubilation outside the Roodepoort magistrate court by dozens of women who came in solidarity of the murdered child.
The court ruled that Tiffany Meek’s statement to the police on the day she reported her son missing is fraught with inconsistencies.
The court also questioned her decision to leave her place of residence on that evening when the child allegedly went missing.
Tiffany Meek’s trial will resume on 17 September 2025.
South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world.
