Harare – Zimbabwe farmers have delivered tobacco worth US$1.1 billion that is over 350 million kilogrammes, a record in the southern African country.
”📈🇿🇼 Tobacco Milestone Alert! As of 29 July 2025, Zimbabwean farmers have sold 350,803,124 kgs of tobacco, earning a remarkable US $1,166,818,649!💰,” the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) wrote on X.
”Together, we’re growing value and shaping a stronger future for Zimbabwe’s tobacco industry! 🚬.”
The tobacco marketing season is closing as most farmers have delivered their crop for sale. Most auction floors are buying last batches of the 2025 tobacco.
Last year Zimbabwe tobacco output was 296 million kilogrammes with more than 70 percent from small scale farmers.
The main market for Zimbabwe tobacco is China. In 2023 China bought US$650 million tobacco from Zimbabwe.
