Harare – Controversial Zimbabwe media owner, Trevor Ncube has come under attack after it was revealed he has not been paying journalists working at his Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) for over a year.
Ncube owns AMH which has the News Day, Zimbabwe Independent, The Standard, Southern Eye and Heart and Soul online television on its stable.
Journalists from the AMH told Timelynews that they were paid US$50 on Tuesday, the only pay they received in 2025 which shocked readers.
Trevor Ncube runs his own talk called ‘In Conversation with Trevor’.
Ncube sparked controversy when he hobnobbed with Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa supporting the veteran ruler.
Apart from supporting Mnangagwa, Ncube ripped in Gerald Mlotshwa into his media empire as a shareholder.
Mlotshwa is a son in law of Mnangagwa.
The exposure of Ncube’s failure to pay journalists under his stable came years after complaints were registered from experienced journalists that Trevor exploits journalists by underpaying them.
When he once ran the Mail & Guardian of South Africa, journalists at the stable experienced poor pay and salary payment delays.
