Pretoria – Zimbabwe opposition leader, Job Sikhala was arrested in South Africa after being found with explosives in the car he was travelling in.
The South Africa Police Services (SAPS) said Sikhala,53, a lawyer and the former St Mary’s MP was arrested together with his uncle who is aged 78.
The police said following a tip-off
that a vehicle was transporting explosives they reportedly discovered 26 blasting cartridges and 15 capped fuse connectors.
Sikhala and his uncle will appear in court on Monday.
Sikhala is one of the leading figures in the opposition who is against President Emmerson Mnangagwa 2030 agenda to extend his term from 2028.
