Harare – The Lake Kariba boat accident death toll is now 97, Zimbabwe police said.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police said two more bodies were recovered on Thursday at the Lake Kariba.
”The ZRP reports that the Kariba RIDA Boat accident death toll is now 97 after the recovery of two bodies from the lake this afternoon,” police said.
The accident that occured Tuesday last week after the overloaded ferry capsized has angered Zimbabweans who have accused the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA) of negligence.
The boat did not have life jackets and it was overloaded.
