‎A nation robbed: An address to the people of Zimbabwe ‎

By Reason Wafawarova
‎
‎Fellow Zimbabweans,
‎
‎I address you not as a politician. Not as a preacher. But as a father. A brother. A fellow citizen of this bIeeding, broken land we all call home — Zimbabwe.
‎
‎What I have to say is not easy. But it must be said.
‎
‎Corruption is stealing from you.
‎
‎Yes, you. The young woman walking ten kilometres to a clinic without paracetamol. The father watching his child die because there’s no cancer machine in the whole country. The vendor forced to pay bribes just to sell tomatoes. The job seeker without hope. The teacher earning in coins while looters drive Lamborghinis. The pensioner living on prayers while MPs collect $40,000 silence packages.
‎
‎Corruption is not abstract. It is not a statistic. It is not some technical glitch. It is theft in broad daylight, committed by those sworn to serve us — and celebrated with ribbon-cuttings, choirs, SUVs, and designer suits.
‎
‎CORRUPTION IS A DISEASE
‎It is a moral cancer, and Zimbabwe is in Stage Four. It paralyzes good people. It infects entire systems. It replaces patriotism with parasitism.
‎
‎Corruption steals hospitals from the sick. It steals schools from our children. It steals dignity from the elderly. It even steals God — when prophets, bishops, and pastors line up to bless bribes in God’s name.
‎
‎It is vile. It is disgusting. It is calculated. It is intentional.
‎Where corruption thrives, poverty thrives. Where thieves rule, nations collapse.
‎
‎MEET THE KINGPINS
‎Kudakwashe Tagwirei is not a businessman. He is the richest man in Zimbabwe because he is the most corrupt man in modern African history. From murky fuel deals to hijacked banks, from GMB grain schemes to ZUPCO bus fraud, from road scams to fake vaccine tenders, from Command Agriculture to mining plunder — his hand is in everything. He even wants to buy ZANU-PF. He’s already bought parts of it.
‎
‎This man now dishes out food handouts and stolen wealth as if it’s benevolence. He is not a donor. He is not a saviour. He is a criminal in a three-piece suit, looting our future and calling it philanthropy.
‎
‎Wicknell Chivayo — the cartoonish face of corruption — parades his ill-gotten SUVs like a gospel crusader. But he is pissing on your poverty and laughing while calling it generosity. He received $439 million to provide cancer machines from a hotel room in Sandton. Machines never to be seen. Patients still dying. But his pockets? Overflowing.
‎
‎These are not businessmen. They are licensed looters.
‎And they are protected by the President himself — Emmerson Mnangagwa — who is no longer ruling. He is merely signing off the theft, occasionally forgetting what he signed.
‎
‎When War Veteran Blessed Geza alleged Mnangagwa is cognitively incapacitated, the nation didn’t gasp. We nodded. Because power now sits at Precabe Farm in Kwekwe — with the Farm Cabinet of his wife Auxillia, his sons, Tagwirei, George Guvamatanga, John Mangudya, and other cronies.
‎
‎A GOVERNMENT OF GANGSTERS
‎They have stolen Parliament — bribing MPs with $40,000 and Borrowdale land. They’ve stolen infrastructure — turning every road tender into a billion-dollar scam. They’ve looted every parastatal.
‎
‎Kuvimba Mining was revalued from $59 million to $5.4 billion with fake assets and paper accounting. Treasury Bills were cashed early for $600 million. All this engineered by Tagwirei’s CBZ Bank.
‎
‎ZUPCO buses were bought, sold back to government, and then rented again. A scam dressed in national colours.
‎
‎Mbudzi Interchange doubled in cost. Paid for twice. But families displaced got nothing.
‎
‎Even our land is now being stolen in reverse — title deeds promised to peasants only if they pay $500 per hectare. Default, and your land is seized — by Tagwirei’s banks — and resold at ten times the price.
‎This is not policy. This is organised theft.
‎
‎THE GLOBAL DIMENSION
‎Do not be fooled. This is not just a Zimbabwean disease. It is global.
‎
‎Just as Australia bribed Timor Leste leaders to withdraw an oil case from the ICJ, rich countries fund corrupt regimes in Africa to secure minerals, oil, and land. China is mining our granite and lithium, leaving environmental ruin. And they don’t care about schools or clinics — only contracts.
‎
‎WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?
‎Where are our churches?
‎Where are the war veterans?
‎Where are the artists, the students, the youth?
‎Have we been so broken that we can no longer feel pain?
‎Has poverty normalised abuse?
‎Has silence become patriotism?
‎We are clapping for thieves. Singing for looters. Defending abusers. That is not humility. That is submission. We are not peaceful. We are paralysed.
‎
‎WHAT MUST BE DONE?
‎I offer no sugar-coated slogans. Only options:
‎ • Mass Uprising — A people’s revolt against elite criminality. Non-violent. National. Necessary.
‎ • Parliamentary Impeachment — Difficult, because they are all bought. But still possible, with public pressure.
‎ • ZANU-PF Revolt — From within the belly of the beast. Some comrades may still carry the flame.
‎ • Military Awakening — Not a coup, but a correction. If honour still lives in our barracks.
‎
‎We are running out of time. The longer we wait, the more they steal. The more they steal, the more we suffer.
‎
‎MY FINAL WORD
‎I speak to you, Zimbabwe:
‎This is not a time for hope.
‎This is a time for outrage.
‎For righteous anger.
‎For moral clarity.
‎For civic action.
‎We are not asking for paradise.
‎We are demanding decency.
‎We are demanding a country where hospitals are not death traps.
‎Where the rich are rich by innovation, not by state-sanctioned theft.
‎Where the Constitution is not a suggestion.
‎Where patriotism is not loyalty to thieves.
‎
‎This is not politics.
‎This is a rescue mission.
‎We must reclaim our stolen country.
‎Zimbabwe or Death.
‎
‎IT IS HOMELAND OR DEATH!
‎The time is now.
‎Thank you.
‎
