Harare – Botswana and Zimbabwe on Wednesday signed agreements to cooperate in defence,compating cross border crime and promoting trade between the two neighbours.
Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Botswana President Duma Boko led their ministers in signing the agreements in Harare at State House.
The Memorandum of Agreements were signed as part of the Bi-National Commission of the two countries which was recently established.
The agreements include cooperate in defence and training exchanges, police cooperation in combating livestock theft and other border crimes.
The two nations agreed to immigration cooperation, prisons and correctional services cooperation and coordination of aeronautical search and rescue services.
Harare and Gaborone also agreed to cooperate in civil aircraft accident assistance and investigations.
On the economic front an agreement was signed to promote investment and trade as well in the small and medium enterprises.
The last of the agreements is on collaboration with the Museum of African Liberation which is built in Harare.
Boko is expected to open the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo on Thursday.
