Maputo, Mozambique – Zimbabwe’s controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo met Mozambique’s Daniel Chapo to discuss business opportunities.
Chivayo’s latest post with Chapo is a second meeting he has shown on social media this week after he met Malawi’s Lazarus Chakwera on Monday.
”Last Sunday, I had the most profound pleasure of paying a brief courtesy visit to one of the sharpest minds and yet youngest ever Presidents in Mozambique’s post-independence history, His Excellency Daniel Chapo,” Chivayo wrote on his Facebook page.
”At just 47 years old, President Chapo embodies the rare fusion of youthful energy, strategic composure and yet he possesses deep political maturity. I was also most delighted by the five star ⭐️ treatment at the iconic Palácio da Ponta Vermelha.”
Chivayo who is a close associate of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa said his meeting with Chapo was to discuss opportunities in Mozambique.
”Our brief discussions with His Excellency covered a wide range of opportunities, from energy cooperation and cross-border infrastructure development, to industrial and regional trade,” Chivayo said.
The controversial businessman reportedly is a recipient of a multi-million dollar Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) shady deal that he got using a South African company fronting him.
Chivayo,45, has been splashing cash, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars and cars like confetti at a wedding.
He has been boasting that he is untouchable and says his plans is to be a billionaire in his lifetime.
Chivayo’s latest meetings with regional leaders Chakwera and Chapo come at a time when he met Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Kenya leader William Ruto in the past weeks.
