Harare – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed former Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Director General, Isaac Moyo Zimbabwe’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Moyo,a Mnangagwa ally was removed as the spy chief earlier in the year and he was replaced by current Director General of the CIO, Fulton Mangwanya.
Moyo’s surprise removal from the president’s department was not explained then but his current appointment shows he is still in good books with Mnangagwa.
Isaac Ananias Moyo is not new to the diplomatic world as he served as Zimbabwe’s ambassador to South Africa until December 2017 when he was appointed to head CIO.
Mnangagwa also appointed three other ambassadors.
Patrick Ronald Mutasa was appointed Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Cuba, Lovemore Mazemo Ambassador to South Africa and David Douglas Hamadziripi, Zimbabwe’s envoy to the United States of America (USA).
Hamadziripi was serving as Zimbabwe’s ambassador to South Africa before his latest appointment to Washington.
