Tokyo – Japan elected Sanae Takaichi as the first female Prime Minister Tuesday.

‎Takaichi,64, who is the leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

‎She faces a mammoth task to revive the economy with Japanese facing high cost of living.
‎
‎Takaichi is a staunch conservative and she is a former ally of the slain former prime minister Shinzo Abe.
