Harare – Controversial businessman, Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei is angling to become Zimbabwe president one day, fugitive war veteran Blessed Geza has claimed.
Geza made the claims in an online address to his followers that the multi-millionaire magnate has ambitions to lead Zimbabwe.
He made the allegations when he named dozens of influential people that include businessmen and politicians that he said were “criminals” surrounding President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“We are seeing there are people surrounding Emmerson who are making things difficult for others, who are making it hard for farmers to get paid. The problems they are the creators of them. I am now giving you their names. We start with Kudakwashe Tagwirei. He wants to become president, after Auxillia has taken her turn. He is the one taking all the contracts. Many companies,” Geza said.
Tagwirei who is a tenderprenuer had made hundreds of millions of dollars in opaque deals. He was in-charge of command agriculture among other many deals.
The United States sanctions called Global Magnitsky program imposed restrictions on President Emmerson Mnangagwa, his wife Auxillia, Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei and his wife Sandra Mpunga.
The other individuals and companies sanctioned include Fossil Agro, Obey Chimuka, Constantino Chiwenga, Oppah Muchinguri, Godwin Matanga, Stephen Mutamba, Walter Tapfumaneyi and Owen Ncube.
Sanctions were imposed for illicit deals in gold, diamonds and rights abuses among many other issues.
Tagwirei, a staunch Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) member lives a reclusive life away from the prying eyes of the public and the media.
Geza listed many politicians and business people that he claimed were “criminals”.
The other individuals named as criminals include Wicknel Chivhayo, Scott Sakuowanya, George Guvamatanga, John Mangudya, Mthuli Ncube, Obey Chimuka, Paul Tungwarara, Douglas Kwande, Owen Mudhara Ncube, Tatenda Mavetera, Daniel Garwe, Mabel Chinomona, Jacob Mudenda, Chris Mutsvangwa, Tino Machakaire, John Paradza, Lovemore Matuke, Ezra Chadzamira, Goodwills Masimirembwa, Polite Kambamura, Ziyambi Ziyambi, Edson Chiherende, Munyaradzi Machacha and Douglas Mahiya.
Geza is against Mnangagwa’s term extension to 2030 from 2028.
He has called on the veteran ruler to step down for running down the country.
Geza has made it clear that he wants an Vice President Constantino Chiwenga an ex-combatant to lead the country after Mnangagwa.
Intense power struggles continue within ZANU PF between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga supporters.
Geza is wanted by Zimbabwe law enforcement agents on charges of inciting violence and undermining Mnangagwa.
