Harare – The ZANU PF Harare province has opted controversial business man, Kudakwashe Tagwirei into the party’s central committee, the powerful body after congress.
Tagwirei, 56, a multi-millionaire has business interests in fuel, mining, construction and banking among other sectors was recommended to join the central committee on Monday by the ZANU PF Harare province.
The move by Harare province comes at a time when man of the moment, war veteran Blessed Geza told his followers that Tagwirei has ambitions harbouring to be president of Zimbabwe.
Geza said Tagwirei who is an ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa is harbouring ambitions to lead the country after the First lady, Auxillia has ruled Zimbabwe.
Tagwirei was named by Geza as one of the many individuals who are criminals that are surrounding Mnangagwa.
Geza accused Tagwirei of causing divisions at the Seventh Adventist church where he is a member.
Tagwirei and his wife Sandra Mpunga were slammed by United States sanctions for illicit dealings.
Geza called for mass protests slated on Monday but ended up as a stay away when people stayed at home as businesses and work places were shut down.
Geza is calling for President Mnangagwa to step down, accusing him of corruption and nepotism.
