Harare – Zimbabwe agriculture deputy Minister, Davis Marapira has been accused by his wife Sibusisiwe Melody Marapira of physical abuse, engaging in adulterous relationships and emotional abuse, divorce papers show.
Sibusisiwe Marapira (nee Mutendi) is divorcing Marapira, her husband of 13 years.
Sibusisiwe is daughter to powerful and politically linked Zion Christian Church (ZCC) head, Nehemiah Mutendi.
Mutendi is a close associate of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Court papers seen by this publication say Davis and Sibusisiwe married in 2013 under the Marriages Act.
However, the marriage has irretrievably broken down due to irreconcilable differences.
In court papers, Sibusisiwe said she has suffered physical, emotional and financial abuse from the deputy Minister, Davis Marapira.
Sibusisiwe is seeking the court to annul her marriage to Marapira and have an equal share of the couple’s properties.
She listed a vast portfolio of properties owned by the couple that include a house in Borrowdale, Lamotte farm in Masvingo, a dairy enterprise, properties that were allocated by government which are in Borrowdale and Beatrice.
She also lists luxury vehicles that include a Toyota Land cruiser, a Land Rover Defender, Nissan Navara and a Ford Ranger.
Sibusisiwe is also wants the court to rule that Marapira pay US$500 for the upkeep of two minor children per month.
The couple according to court papers sired three children.
