Dubai – Controversial Zimbabwe multi- millionaire, Wicknell Chivayo showed a video hobnobbing with prominent journalist Hopewell Chin’ono’s medical doctor, Dr Nyasha Maboreke in Dubai.
Chivayo shared a video to his followers on Facebook where he is being chauffer driven seating at the back of a Rolls Royce with Dr Maboreke in Dubai.
”Dr Maboreke, tichimbodzidzisai kudya Mari mu Dubai hamufungi kudaro Doc (Dr Maboreke. I am teaching you to spend money in Dubai, don’t you think so Dr),” Chivayo says in the video after which Dr Maboreke laughs and showed a peace sign with his fingers to the camera.
Chin’ono who is in self-imposed exile in South Africa and United Kingdom has said Dr Maboreke is his personal doctor in the past.
The journalist has had dinner with Dr Maboreke in Johannesburg.
In one of the posts on social media Chin’ono wrote: “Tonight, I had dinner with my personal doctor, Nyasha Maboreke, in Johannesburg.
A prominent Zimbabwean gave me R50,000 to appreciate my contributions towards Zimbabwe’s journey to democracy.
“Imari yedrink mudhara,” he said.
”I want to use this money to buy mental health drugs for Zimbabweans who can’t afford them.
If you have a relative who needs mental health drugs but can’t afford them, let me know!

My doctor, Nyasha Maboreke, has been deeply moved by your comments.

How Chivayo and Maboreke met in Dubai is not clear. Timely News does not know if Chivayo and Maboreke are friends or related.
Chin’ono has been highly critical to Chivayo accusing the controversial businessman of being corrupt.

The journalist has been avoiding contact with individuals who hobnob with close ZANU PF and Zimbabwe government officials fearing for his life and fearing to get poisoned.
Chivayo is one of the key individuals who are accused of corruption and amassing millions of dollars in unexplained wealth with critics accusing him of stealing from state coffers.
Chivayo is a close associate of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and a staunch supporter of ZANU PF.
Chivayo has been donating expensive cars and cash worth which runs into millions of dollars over the past year.
His source of income is not known however Chivayo has been accused of dubiously getting tenders to supply election materials fronting a South African company in one of the deals after which he got over US$100 million.
