Harare- Hurungwe Rural District Council (RDC) Chief Executive Officer Mr Luke Kalavina was convicted of three counts of fraud involving US$47 000 by the High Court and sentenced to 34 years imprisonment.
He defrauded the RDC of funds meant for the construction of a bridge and improvements at a local clinic.
Hurungwe RDC Engineer Romeo Mupamaonde and his assistant, AIfred Makama, were convicted of four counts of fraud and sentenced to 52 years in prison each. The two are already serving 18 years after they were convicted for fraud last week.
Marloshack Private Limited director Mr Marvin Matiza was convicted of two counts of fraud and sentenced to 36 years in prison.
His company was convicted of one count of fraud and sentenced to 18 years and ordered to restitute Hurungwe RDC.
