Norton, Zimbabwe – The Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts (OMIFA) which is scheduled for September 19 and 20, does not include the late musician’s daughter Selmor.
In a poster seen by Timely News Selmor is not on the list of performers during the two day event which will be headlined by Jah Prayzah and Feli Nandi.
In 2019 a Tuku Memorial bash did not include Selmor on the line up of performers that resulted in a public outcry until she was added.
A family feud exists between Tuku’s widow Daisy and Selmor and her siblings, the children Tuku sired in his previous marriage.
Daisy runs Pakare Paye arts centre.
Other artists and bands scheduled to perform at the show in September are Jah Signal, Saintfloew, Tamy Moyo, Black Spirits, Agga Nyabinde, Samasamba, Mandava, Munya Nyamarebvu, Prestige ‘The Band’, Tatenda Mhangami, Terry Mbofana, Mokoomba, Hwamanda and Vee Mpofu.
The show will be held at Pakare Paye Arts centre in Norton and tickets will be sold for US$10 and US$50 VIP.
Oliver Mtukudzi, a legendary Zimbabwe musician died in 2019. He had dozens of albums under his sleeve.
