Gweru – A cross border bus travelling from Botswana to Zimbabwe overturned in Gweru near Fairmile hotel killing six people and injuring many others.
The bus was travelling to Harare from the Plumtree border.
The Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) described the accident as ‘tragic’.
”Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their speedy recovery,” Tafadzwa Goliati, PAZ national coordinator said in a statement.
”This tragic incident highlights the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and strict adherence to road safety regulations. PAZ urges all road users to exercise caution and prioritize safety.”
Zimbabwe road accidents are mainly attributed to human error and poor road infrastructure.
