Pretoria- South Africa declared Ariel Seidman, Israel’s chargé d’affaires, persona non grata and ordered him to leave the country within 72 hours over insulting remarks directed at President Cyril Ramaphosa.
”The Department of International Relations and Cooperation has informed the Government of the State of Israel of its decision to declare Mr. Ariel Seidman, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Israeli Embassy, persona non grata,” South Africa’s department of International relations said.
South Africa and Israel have frosty relations since the outbreak of the Israel, Gaza war.
South Africa supports the Palestine cause and the right for Palestine to be recognized as a state.
South Africa did not specify the exact details of Seidman’s undiplomatic behaviour
