Birmingham, UK – Zimbabwe Chimurenga music icon,Thomas Mapfumo will stage a single show in the United Kingdom in Birmingham which has been dubbed the last show by the legendary musician.
Mapfumo,80, who is popularly known as Mukanya or ‘The Lion of Zimbabwe’ will be supported on stage by his protégé and nephew – rising Chimurenga music artist Kurai Makore.
Makore released his latest album Dzimwe Nguva at Mabelreign Sports Club last Friday.
Other musicians to share the stage with Mukanya include Tocky Vibes, Selmor Mtukudzi and Lindsay Chamangura Ngura.
The music extravaganza will be held on Saturday, August 23 at The New Bingly Hall, 1 Hockley Circus, Birmingham B18 5PP.

Mapfumo is arguably the best musician to come out of Zimbabwe. He has released several albums in his long music career which started in the early 1960s.
His popular hits include Vanhu Vatema,Chipatapata,Corruption, Mamvemve, Pidigori Waenda, Kuenda Mbire, Usatambe Nenyika, Disaster among many other songs.
