Harare – The Ministry of Health and Child Care on Tuesday said the country recorded three cholera deaths and 44 suspected cases this year.
In it’s weekly disease surveillance, the health ministry said 25 cases were reported in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe in Mashonaland East, four in Beitbridge, Matebeleland South while the other cases were isolated across the country.
There were no deaths recorded from Typhoid, but there were 49 cases recorded.
Last year Zimbabwe recorded 718 cholera deaths. About 34 000 cases were recorded and there were 33 831 recoveries. The case fatality rate was 2.1 percent.
