‎Zimbabwe’s Econet services down, inconveniences millions of customers ‎

Harare – Zimbabwe’s largest mobile telephone network, Econet on Thursday experienced a major technical fault which affected millions of customers in the southern African country, the company confirmed.

‎”Please note that some customers may be experiencing intermittent network challenges that could impact service availability,” Econet said in a statement.
‎
‎”Our technical teams are working diligently to restore normal service as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.”
‎
‎The technical fault started mid-afternoon on Thursday affecting calls, SMS and internet services on the Econet platform.
‎
‎Econet is owned by Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa.
