Bulawayo-Zimbabwe is making significant strides toward digitalizing land transactions with the introduction of an e-titling platform aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in land ownership.
This initiative was highlighted by the Minister of Information Communication Technologies Tatenda Mavetera during the second edition of the Land Tenure conference held in Bulawayo Wednesday.
In her address, the minister emphasized on the critical role of digital solutions in modernizing land administration.
“As we move into the era of the fourth industrial revolution, it’s essential that our land tenure systems are inclusive, transparent, and efficient, ensuring no one is left behind,” she stated.
The e-titling platform forms part of the government’s digital transformation agenda within the land reform sector.
Mavetera also emphasized the need to empower women by providing education on land rights and equipping them with digital skills.
“Empowering women through land ownership is key to bridging the gender gap,” she added.
The edition was attended by top businessmen including Tawanda Mutyebere, Clive Musenye, Obey Chimuka, Scott Sakupwanya, Special Presidential Advisor Paul Tungwarara among others.
Guest of honour was newly appointed Central Committee member Kuda Tagwirei.
